New vs Old?

Hey guys, first I'd like to say sorry for not posting in a while, I have been busy with irl stuff. Anyways, today's post is going to be about La Roux's song 'In For The Kill', more specifically a certain 2 remixes that have been made. To be honest, I was actually planning to make this a "which is better"-post, but instead it is going to focus more on the difference between older-dubstep and newer-dubstep.
As you can see in the older, Skream remix, the older-dubstep is more focused on sub-bass and the drum pattern.

While we in the Skrillex remix see that the newer dubstep is more focused on the "filthy" and "screamy" sound.

  1. i may have to say i dont like extreme dubstepping, i mean i love it, but sometimes it seems they overdo it, good balanc eis the key, as for the remake i love both XD

  2. I like the first version more. The skrillex-remix feels like overdoing it, like this ^ guy said. Too much voices panned to the left and right, and also, this "filthy" sound I think contributes a lot to the overdoing thing...

But oh well, all of skrillex's songs contains this wobbly sound thingy, which is fine sometimes at least.
